To all of our ladies with "Light Skin".....Best Shades....A yellow-based foundation will look most natural. To define lips, choose colors that contrast with your skin tone: think pale pinks, deep plums, and mauves. Steer Clear....pinkish foundation, which can make your skin look pasty, dark eyeshadows, which close up the eye, making the eye appear smaller.
My Personal Favorite Eyeshadow combo on Light Skin....Naked eye pigment by MAC cosmetics, Patina and Banshee eyeshadow by MAC cosmetics.
Tips for "Medium Skin".....Best Shades....A warm beige foundation with gold flecks will compliment your olive undertones. On eyes, choose deep jewel shades like emerald green and deep amethyst - they are neutral tones on medium skin tones. For lips, sheer caramel shades look the prettiest!!! You must avoid....Matte pastels or white based colors like slate grey or silver, they can come across too chalky!!! Same goes for your foundation, never apply shades that are even a smidge lighter than your skin tone. Shimmery shades add dimension to olive skin, making it have more glow.
My Personal Favorites on Medium Skin....Star Violet and Greensmoke shadows by MAC cosmetics. Naked eye pigment and Pearl color cream by MAC also adds a beautiful shimmer and dewiness to your skin.
For our "Dark-Skinned Girls".....Best Shades....Dark skin has the most complex undertones. This just means more colors are flattering than not. Deep brown shadows that are one shade lighter than your skin, will brighten up the eye. On lips, definitely bold is flattering! Blue-based purples, berries, and burgundies look fabulous! Stay away from....light pastel shades!
My Personal Favorite Look on Dark Skin....Amber Lights and Coppering eyeshadows by MAC cosmetics. Can't forget "Oh" lipstick by MAC cosmetics too!!
